Ms. Diamond

Director

My Name is Diamond McKenzie. I love crafting and educating children! I am a former Educator in the public school sector. I obtained my Bachelors in Educational studies From Montreat College, and have taken several Birth- Kindergarten Classes at Western Carolina University to better educate myself of how children learn, grow, and develop in the Early Childhood Education field. I am thrilled to be here at Eagles Nest Child Development Center where “ Eagles are Taught to Soar”. There is never a dull moment here at Eagles Nest, I always leave with a smile on my face!. My hobbies include crafting, reading, traveling, and spending time with family.

Two Year's Old Teacher

My first name is Heather, but I go by Nikki, or as the kids call me Miss. Mickey. My hobbies include crafting, reading a good book, making cornhole boards and going to cornhole tournaments with my husband. I love going to the beach, spreading Autism Awareness as my son is autistic, and spending as much time with my family and friends as I can! I have taught in a daycare for a total of 3 and a half years, I usually work with 2yr olds. I've worked with children since I was 13, whether it was babysitting, in a daycare, in my church, or my own four children. I have four teens of my own, three girls and one boy, ages 13,15,17,and 19. Yes, it's a handful!! I love working with children because they bring joy to my heart! I always knew I wanted to be a mother and work with children. Kids challenge me on a daily basis, and I need that in my life. Before my time with Eagles Nest CDC, I worked with young adults with special needs. Being that my son is autistic, I feel like I am more understanding of all children and can relate to having a "unique" child. I treat all of the kids the same! Children have a special place in my heart and I feel like working with them is my true calling!

I have four children of my own, and I have seven grandchildren. Two of those grandchildren my husband and I have had the pleasure to raise. I enjoy spending time with family, laughing. Not only do I love teaching and learning; but I love to see the children do the same! I love to pray and serve God. I enjoy Eagle Nest Child Development Center.

Toddler's Teacher

Hello my name is Andrea Jamison.I have two wonderful children, I went to school in North Dakota for early childhood education. My experience there really helped me learn how to teach children who have different personalities. Being around children brings out the best in me as I have a passion to teach children. Each child learns differently, this helps me to grow with them and continue learning. Toddlers are the most creative age group when it comes down to using their senses. Last but not least, something that sticks out about me is that I always build a friendship with the children that I am teaching.

School Age Teacher

Hobbies/Interest Spending time with my husband and children, reading, coloring. Experience I have taught children’s church for 12+ years at my church. I also worked for the YMCA in the after school and summer camp program for 3.5 years.I enjoy working with children of all ages. love all of their colorful personalities and watching them soar as eagles! Watching them grow and learn is a joy.

I have 8 years nannying experience as well as being the mother to three children of my own. I have my early childhood education credentials,I'm currently working towards my Associates degree in early childhood education. Infants are my favorite age group to work with, in the infant stage they are learning so many things. Like how to sit, crawl, talk and walk. I really enjoy being apart of this process. I have worked with all age groups from the little babies to the school age children. When I'm not at work I like to spend my free time with my children. We like to take camping trips and do movie marathons. I also enjoy working on the many craft projects I have going on. I crochet, make things with my cricut, and I make other things that I find on pinterest. I've currently gotten interested in baking again and trying to perfect a homemade apple pie. It is my pleasure to serve the parents and children here at Eagles Nest.

Teacher Assistant

My name is Destiny Williams, currently a sophomore at Gaston College for radiology. I work at Eagle Nest Child Development Center as a Teacher Assistant. Being a Teacher Assistant helps me to grow with the children, not only do I get to grow with them; but I get to be creative with them. The children teach me every day that no matter their age, everyone can learn, but they all learn differently. In my free time, I love going to family members' houses and helping with younger cousins with homework, or just being outdoors with them if it's nice outside. I really enjoy working with kids , I’m so glad to be apart of their journey of life !
